Payment Correction

Overview

Payment Correction allows for a simplified approach to correcting some customer billing issues. Use the Type box to control the corrective action that will occur. If you select Void Customer Payment, the system will automatically create the required adjustment transactions. If you select Payment Check Date/Number Correction, no adjustment transactions occur. The kinds of corrections are predefined and cannot be changed.

The kinds of corrections include the following:

Payment Check Date/Number Correction

Void Customer Payment

Correct the payment check date or check number

Select Financials | Receivables | Payment Corrections.

In Type, select Payment Check Date/Number Correction.

Click Lookup  next to Payment Reference to select document that you want to correct.

Note: The data from the original payment is displayed.

Make sure that the values in the Period and Date fields in the Header are correct.

In Description, type a description for the correction payment.

In Revised Check Number, specify the corrected check number.

In Revised Check Date, specify the corrected check date.

Currency is display-only and shows the currency used for the payment.

Exchange Rate is display-only and shows the exchange rate at the time of payment.

Note: Currency and Exchange Rate are included only if you are using Multicurrency in your Beyond Software system.

When you are finished, select Posted in Status, and then click Save.

Void a customer payment

Select Financials | Receivables | Payment Corrections.

In Type, select Void Customer Payment.

Click Lookup next to Payment Reference to select document that you want to void.

Note: The data from the original payment is displayed.

Make sure that the values in the Period and Date fields in the Header are correct.

In Description, type a description for the voided payment.

When you are finished, select Posted in Status, and then click Save.
