Use Price Class to manage various types of price breaks/markups for an inventory item. When an item is added to the Billing Schedule section of the Billing Information tab in Project under Projects, the system will look for a price class to determine the correct unit price to use for billing purposes.
Creating a New Price Class
Select Inventory | Price Classes.
In Description, specify the description of the price class, such as Promo, Discount, etc.
In Customer Class, specify the class for the customer associated with the Price Class.
In Customer ID and Customer Name, specify the Customer associated with the Price Class.
Select the method you wish to use to determine the calculation of the price class from the Calculation Type dropdown list. Valid options include:
Percent of Price
Specific Amount from Price
Specific Price
Specify the Start Date for when the system can begin to use the new Price Class.
Specify the End Date for when the system should stop using the Price Class.
Specify the Quantity Break to use to determine when a new price should be calculated.
Specify the Percent of the price to be used to determine the new price. Percent is used only if the Calculation Type is set to Percent of Price.
Specify the Amount of the price to be used to determine the new price. Amount is used only if the Calculation Type is set to Specific Amount from Price.
Specify the Price to be used to determine the new price. Price is used only if the Calculation Type is set to Specific Price.
