Use Company and People Types to specify the values that appear in the Type tabs in Company and in People, based on the value specified in Category.
Setting Up Companies and People Types
Select Administration | Setup | Company and People Types.
In Type, specify the new type identifier. For example, if you are setting up a Company, you may choose to name it Consulting to identify the type of industry the company does business in. If you are setting up people, you may choose to define roles such as CEO, CFO as the type.
In Category, enter a category for the classification of the type. Valid choices include the following:
Company and People
Contact
Company
In Subcategory, specify a subcategory for the classification of the type. Valid choices include the following:
Customer
Vendor
Team Member
Subcontractor
Select the Active check box to make the company or contact type available to be used.
Click Save and New, or click Save and then click New, to save the current company or contact and start adding the next.
Editing Companies and People Types
Select Administration | Setup | Company and People Types.
Use the pointer to put the focus on the line and column that you want to change, and make the changes.
Click Save.
